Minimax TEC Powder (D Class) Type fire extinguishers are specially manufactured to fight reactive metal fires. These extinguishers are suitable on fire risk from reactive metals like Li, Na, K, Mg, Al powders & paste, Ti, Fe and their alloys. TEC based dry powder is used as an agent which is formulated eutectic mixture of 3 (ternary) salts.

Minimax D-Type extinguishers are unique in design to serve a very specific requirement and has low velocity lance-like applicator nozzle with internal radial fins which diffuses pressure and ensures gentle application of powder without metal splashing. Although dry powder extinguishers are recognized for their ability to effectively and efficiently tackle a range of fire types, Minimax D-Type must only be used on class D fires.

ABC dry chemical powder fire extinguishers are suitable for use on Class A (ordinary solids), Class B fires (flammable liquids) and Class C (gas and vapors) fires.

Minimax BC Powder Gas Cartridge Type extinguishers are preferred where the fire extinguishers are deployed in severe conditions – usually outdoor. They are preferred in industrial applications and enable quick and simple refilling after discharge. BC Powder Type variant contains sodium bicarbonate powder for fighting against light and ordinary fire hazard. It is effective on Class B fires (flammable liquids) and Class C fires (flammable gases). Extinguishers uses cooling and blanketing effect to slow down fire and eventually extinguishing the fire. BC dry chemical powder is Free-flowing, water repellent, non-abrasive.

Minimax Water Gas Cartridge Type extinguishers are preferred where the fire extinguishers are deployed in severe conditions – usually outdoor. They are preferred in industrial applications and enable quick and simple refilling after discharge.

Water type fire extinguishers are most preferred to tackle Class A (ordinary solids) fires involving common combustible materials such as wood, plastics and paper. These fire extinguishers should never be used on electrically actuated fires. They are preferred in industrial applications and enable quick and simple refilling after discharge.

Water type fire extinguishers works on cooling principle. When extinguisher is operated by spraying a jet of water onto the fire, it penetrates the blaze resulting in flames being extinguished.

Mechanical foam (AFFF) Gas Cartridge Type extinguishers are ideal for installation in outdoor environments. These fire extinguishers are preferred in warehouses, petrol filling areas and factories where there is a dual risk of solid materials and flammable liquid fires. They can be used on both Class A (ordinary solids) and Class B (flammable liquids) fires containing materials such as wood, paper and other solid combustibles as well as flammable liquids including petrol and spirits.

AFFF fire extinguisher after operating on fire prone area produces a layer which helps in cooling as well as blanketing effect results in extinguishing fire. Another key property of the foam is its ability to seep its way into absorbent fuel sources which prevents reigniting risks. Mechanical foam (AR-AFFF) Gas Cartridge Type extinguishers are suitable on water soluble flammable liquids like alcohols, ketones, amines, esters, ethers, aldehydes etc. in pure form as well as in mixture with hydrocarbons. These extinguishers can be used on both Class A (ordinary solids) and Class B (flammable liquids) fires containing materials such as wood, paper and other solid combustibles as well as flammable liquids including petrol and spirits. Mechanical Foam type extinguishers should never be used on electrical fires, flammable gases, cooking fats & oils.

Operating principle is similar as other foam type extinguisher but in case of polar solvents foam is produced by mixing foam concentrate with water and applied through aerating nozzles on alcoholic fires, after which a thick foam film is formed on the surface of the fuel blocking external air, thereby extinguishing the fire.
